　病気の旦那さんを救うことが出来なかったなあ…という婆様のお話。

BBC DR Congo's Goma volcano: 'I couldn't save my sick husband from the lava' 24 May 2021

「Ernestine Kabuo returned home after fleeing the lava flow in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, to find that her husband had not survived.」

「The 68 year old was unable to carry her sick husband out of their house and she found him burnt to death, she told Reuters news agency.

At least 22 deaths have been confirmed following Saturday's eruption of a nearby volcano, Mount Nyiragongo.」

　…津波よりはまあまだしも動きがゆっくりっぽく、もうちょっと悔恨の出る余地が広いだろうか。まあなあ、どっちみち、熱で火災で巻かれて死ぬだろう、などと思うと、さほど違うものとも思えない。

「Around 500 houses were flattened and the UN's children's agency, Unicef, says that more than 100 children are missing after having been separated from their parents.」

「Many of Goma's residents are used to fleeing. Armed groups have terrorised the region for more than 25 years and many people who live in the city moved there after violence hit their villages close by.」

　一緒に逃げたはずの子供たちともはぐれ―などという。
　そうして脱出し、なんとかキャンプに入れても、援助物資もなにもあったもんじゃない（国道が溶岩で封鎖された；空港は無事だが、空路では限度があるし、国道が潰れてしまっては流通も結構危ういだろう）。

「Nearly 500,000 people in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been left without clean drinking water after a volcano erupted, the charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has warned.

It says because cholera is endemic and poses a great threat there is an urgent need to provide people in the eastern city of Goma with safe drinking water.」

　ああ、そりゃコレラも流行するか。ここ最近はあまりニュースにのぼらなかった感があるが、まあその、より日常的な危機である。
