　ベネズエラ政府は、その沿岸の都市Macuto（首都カラカスから34kmほど北にある）に上陸しようとしてきたスピードボートによる一段を発見、その意図をくじいたと声明。これはコロンビア政府による、ベネズエラ政府転覆のためのテロ攻撃であるとする。

「The Venezuelan government has said it foiled an attempted sea incursion by "terrorist mercenaries" from Colombia.」

　米国に支援された、そんな攻撃などに我々は屈しないぞ！と頑張っちゃいますから。

　…ええ、まあ、えらいこと雑な政府転覆攻撃ですなという気は果てしなくするが、まあ…陳腐で時代遅れの策でも、それは現実になされ得るものではないということを意味しないわけではある。コロンビアとしては、ンなもん無根拠だろがという見解。まあ、ええ、実際にやっていてもこういうコメントになるでしょうから、さほど意味のあるコメントではないでしょうが。

　んーまあ、テロリストと呼ぶのはいいとして、なんでまた傭兵ですかね、とか。いまどきの傭兵さんというのは、こうまで機微にふれる仕事を受けるものなんだろうか―ああいや、受けかねない人たちもいるか。うん、いるな、いるだろう…。
