オーストラリア大火災：一部地域に大雨・雷雨

　火災の一部を消し止めつつあるも、こんどは部分的であれ洪水の危険が、とか。

「New South Wales' capital Sydney has seen heavy rainfall」

　とりあえずコアラがアスファルト道にたまった水を舐めてる写真が出てたりして、ああもうこれしょうがないじゃん、雨降っただけよしとするしか、という気になる。

「Heavy rains and thunderstorms have lashed parts of Australia's east coast, dousing some of its fires but bringing a new threat of flooding to some areas.」

「NSW reported severe rainfall and storms in several areas, and warned of potential flooding.」

「Firefighters in the state said they were making the most of the "benign conditions" of rain and cooler temperatures to try to tackle the remaining bushfires. Some 75 fires were still burning in the state on Saturday, down from well over 100 a few days ago.」

　数日前には100件以上あった火災が、いまでは75件ほどに減っているそうで。素晴らしい、といえる。
　とおもったら、洪水は洪水で結構ひどいらしく―火災で大変な東部でないだけよいが―

BBC Australia floods: Girl, 3, and dog missing for 24 hours found 3km from home 16 Jan 2020

「A three-year-old girl and her pet dog have been found safe and well 24 hours after they went missing in Western Australia's flood-hit Pilbara region.」

「When the authorities picked up the girl, she was caked in mud but otherwise fine. Her dog was by her side, still protecting her, police said.」

　3歳児が増水した小川に流されたらしい。飼い犬はこれに巻き込まれたか同行したか、ともあれ泥に埋まった三歳児を護るかのようにしていたところを双方共に保護されたと。

　雨はありがたくもあり

「Storms have also helped disperse smoke in Melbourne, which has endured hazardous air quality in recent days.」

　大気の状況を劇的に改善しただろう。いや一時のことであるかもしれないが。

　しかしまあ…日本人はあんまり他所のコト言えないが、よくまあこうまで苦難の大地に生きているもんだ、とは…。
