Finally went to the new Japanese sweets shop
和菓子屋新規開拓。
いつも活動時間が夜なので、その和菓子屋へ行ってみたらいつももう閉まっていた。
一度も開いている時に行ったことがなかった。
でも今日は休みだったので、和菓子をついに買えた！
５年前にここに引っ越してきて初めてだ。
I always wanted to go to the new Japanese sweets shop. But I usually work in evenings. So it was always closed when I went there.
But today was a day off, and finally I got their sweets.
It’s my first time to try them since I moved here 5 years ago.
これは揚最中。揚饅頭や揚かりんとうは知ってたけど、揚最中は今まで見たことがなかった。
香ばしくておいしい！
This is Age-monaka (fried monaka).
I know Age-manju and Age-karinto, but I had never seen Age-monaka. It tastes great!
次は、南蛮焼き。
これも悪くない。
がっしりしっかりした重みで、こばらがすいた時にはいいかも。
This one is Namban-yaki. Namban means “Occidental.”
It’s not bad. A little bit heavy, but it’ll be good when you’re hungry.
