My mother called me yesterday and I heard my rabbit name RAPIKA will see a doctor. RAPIKA was injured her right leg a half years ago by falling into gitch of Sunoko which is wodden board. Since then, it was hard to walk freely than before. Recently it seemed my mother thought RAPIKA looked hard to stay, and she determined to bring RAPIKA to a doctor.
As I heard, RAPIKA was X-rayed and given a explanation about diagnosis. To sum up, RAPIKA's spine bent oddly. Of course right leg's bone bent too. Doctor said RAPIKA is already old rabbit, so other way to think is osteoporosis which is called Kotsusosyousyou in Japan. Due to osteoporosis, bone is weeker gradually and RAPIKA got an injury easily. And when RAPIKA falled into ditch, she was surprised and struggled to throw off it, eventually was injured her spine.
It'll hard to operate because she is an old rabbit. RAPIKA is almost 6 year's old and doctor said rabbit was hard to survive until 6 years' old.
(Actually 6 year's is the longest longevity of the three rabbit I had taken care of.) Doctor suggested some way to result RAPIKA's hardship but we suppose to wait and see a little more. If the time when RAPIKA needs some help is coming, I'll buy some tools for her.
The picture following is the X-ray of RAPIKA. and drawing on the above is explain her spine for understanding.
I think it's necessary to think we prepare for environment for an old rabbit. Although it is the one of way to think that because she is already old rabbit and can't survive longer from now, it's better we give her food which she like, for example bananas, chocolate, cookies which will be not good her health, think of her health we should change food to fit for an old rabbit. As a master of RAPIKA, it's hard to decide which way I should choose, but basically I'll prepare for her a best environment she can enjoy. I'll go back to home some time near to take care of RAPIKA.
