元Boko Haram兵員の社会復帰事業

　軍がイニシアティブをとってそうした施設を運営、このたび559名が社会復帰するとのこと。

　自発的に投降した者たちに、職業訓練や宗教的な支援、精神的な支援を提供し、社会復帰をめざしたもの。これでプログラム修了者は1629名だというから、結構なもの。

「The authorities in Nigeria say 559 ex-Boko Haram members have graduated from a de-radicalisation programme and are expected to be reintegrated into society soon.

The graduation ceremony was held over the weekend at a de-radicalisation centre in the north-eastern state of Gombe.

At the event, the graduands pledged their allegiance to the Nigerian authorities they once fought against.」

「Members of Boko Haram who voluntarily lay down their arms and surrender to the authorities are given special training including vocational skills, religious reorientation and psychological support to de-radicalise them before being reintegrated into the society.

The total number of those who have completed the programme is now 1,629.」

「There is still a sense of mistrust in the society towards former Boko Haram members given the level of violence the group has committed.」

　…まあ、受け入れる社会の側としても疑念やなにやら、そりゃあありましょうが。
　とはいえ、社会に戻れなくしてやるーというのが（特に少年）兵に対する初期教育の一環だったりするでしょうし、まあ…復帰を許す方が、全体としては正しいのでしょうけど。
