ハイブリッド車 トヨタ、200万円切る新型 2011年メド ホンダに対抗 一般車に価格接近 本格普及期へ

According to sources familiar with the matter,Toyota Motor Corporation is going to develop a new type hybrid car priced at less than 2 million yen and to put it on sale in 2011.Toyota intends to make the newly planned vehicle' selling price lower than that of "Insight," which Honda Motor Co.,Ltd. began selling this February at 1.89 million yen sold, and also 20 to 30 percent lower than that of the current "Prius" (minimum price;2.33 million yen) of its own, curbing the cost by using the common components with other brands.Toyota precedes other auto makers in developing hybrid cars. But as Honda and others have recently made efforts to catch up with Toyota, then the competion has come to be very severe. In these circumstances,Toyota will continue vigorously investing in the field of hybrid cars and will keep the top position, espacially eyeing the Honda's movement.
This movement of Toyota could also be said that the hybrid car development leader Toyota is going to make the hybrid cars' prices rather close to those of the general passenger's cars and to make the hybrid vehicles more popular.
