この "dish" は明らかに皿でも食事でもないのでDictionary.com で調べると：
名詞：an item of gossip.

などの意味がありましたがいづれも俗語とされていたので覚えなくても良いと思いましたが、たまたま見たテレビのCNNニュースを見ていたらアンカーが話しているニュースとは関係のないticker（画面下部の横に流れる字幕情報）に "to dish..." と "dish" が動詞で使われているのに気が付きました。字幕は直ぐに消えてしまったので何のニュースか分かりませんが、"dish" の俗語とされている意味で普通に使われるようになっているのではと思いました。 そこでWebで "dish" を使ったニュースが無いかと調べると、

CNNの例は明らかにゴシップと関係ありますがThe New York Timesの例は単なる雑談のようです。
The American Heritage Dictionaryに "dish" Informal: To talk idly, especially to gossip.
とあるのでゴシップ以外でもたわいもない話に "dish" が使われるようになってきたようです。
私のブログも "just dishing" にならない様に気を付けなければ。
