9:08 – Fernando Alonso fears that McLaren-Honda could be Formula 1's slowest team "in normal conditions", despite an encouraging Australian Grand Prix performance.

After more pre-season woes, Alonso qualified 13th fastest at Albert Park, which became 12th on the grid after a gearbox penalty for Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo.

Alonso made up another place at the start, and moved into the points-paying positions when Haas' Romain Grosjean retired, holding 10th for the majority of the race.

However, he was overhauled by Esteban Ocon (Force India) and Nico Hülkenberg (Renault) late on, before retiring with a suspected suspension problem.


"I think a suspension failure at the end is what happened and stopped us finishing the race," said Alonso.

"It was pretty good, I think. I was driving one of my best races so far.

"We were surprisingly in the points, all the race long. We also had to do huge fuel-saving, which was hurting us a lot, but we were able to keep the position.

"I was a little bit surprised to be so [far] up, but at the end of the day we didn't finish the race and definitely we need to be more competitive very soon."

 "I think we are last, that's the performance we have now.

"We were 10th because the qualifying lap yesterday was extremely good. At the start I was lucky to gain one position and Grosjean's retirement gave us the second one.

"I think in normal conditions, at a normal circuit, we should be last and before last."

リタイヤ原因　PUじゃなくて　よかった・・・・

PUが原因だったら　もっとボロクソに言ってたんだろうな

たぶん　怒り爆発。。
