Today, I'd like to introduce you the book series I'm currently reading.
(本日は皆さんに今読んでいるシリーズ本を紹介したいと思います。
The series is Harry Bosch novel. It is originally published in English. It won many prizes in America.
(シリーズは「ハリー ボッシュ」の小説です。原著は英語で出版されています。数々の賞を受賞しているシリーズです。)
I believe that I talked about the TV series I was watching on the Amazone Prime.
(以前私がアマゾンプライムにてドラマ版のご紹介をしたことがあるかもしれません。)
This series is about the Harry Bosch, the detective in the city of Los Angeles, solving the mysteries of homicides.
(シリーズはロサンゼルスで刑事をしている主人公「ハリーボッシュ」が殺人事件の謎を解く形でつづられます。)
The stories are by themselves very interesting, however, what makes the series more interesting is Harry's character.
(話自体も非常におもしろいですが、より本を面白くしているのが主人公のキャラです。)
He is very complex as he has paradox within.
(彼は複雑な性格をしており、いくつかの矛盾を内包するキャラとして描かれています。)
For example, he characterizes himself as a loner, yet he unconsciously seeks for an intimate human relationship.
(例えば彼は自分自身が孤独を望む性格だと言い張りますが、無意識的に他人との親密な関係を求めます。)
The other example is that he acts mercilessly to achieve goals, yet he is very sympathetic when it comes to children and victims.
(また、事件の謎を解くためであれば手段を問わない一面をもちながら、子供や被害者のこととなると以上に同情的になります。)
Series consists of almost 20 books and is still ongoing.
(シリーズはおおよそ20冊の本からなり、未だに続いています。)
Almost all the books are translated and available in Japanese.
(そのほとんどが日本語訳されています。)
Each book is quite long as it's about 300 - 400 pages, but I can assure you it's worth trying to read!
