As the festival (Sanja Matsuri) comes near by, people start to do fidgety.
Sanja Matsuri is one of the most famous festivals in Tokyo. It is a festival for the Asakusa Shrine. It is held during the middle of May. The portable shrines decorated with gold sculptures and painted with gold leaf, called Mikoshi, are accompanied by about a thousand people, and after they leave the Asakusa Shrine in the morning.
Tthe parade continues through the whole down town Tokyo and returns to the shrine in the evening. With amazing vigor, men carry several dozens of portable shrines on their shoulders, hoping it can bless the town and people.
Sanja Matsuri is powerful, energetic, exciting and enjoyable - everybody is always welcome to participate.
