東京都の緊急事態宣言が出されてから、田町駅周辺の港区指定喫煙所は閉鎖されました。
事件現場のように、黒と黄色の看板が立てられ、全体が包帯のように白いテープで巻かれていました。
私は、2月初めからたばこを吸っていませんので、たばこを吸える場所が閉鎖されても困りませんが、吸っていたとしたらかなり不自由だったと、愛煙家の皆さんに同情を禁じ得ません。当時、1人の男性が閉鎖された喫煙所の境界線を跨ぐようにして、手には携帯灰皿を持ち背中を丸めるような、申し訳ないような、人目をはばかるようにして吸っていました。
I have not smoked since early February, so I am not bothered by the closure of places where I can smoke cigarettes, but if I had, I would have been quite inconvenienced, and I cannot help but feel sympathy for all the smokers. At the time, one man was smoking out of the public eye as he straddled the boundary line of the closed smoking area, holding a portable ashtray in his hand and curling his back, apologetic and out of sight.
