I watched the late night "Family History" re-broadcast "Mr. Bakarhythm" on NHK.
There were many things I could understand by watching it twice.
Bakarhythm (Hidekazu Masuno)'s family had a cafeteria at Tagawa City Hall in addition to a catering lunch box shop.
Tracing my mother's ancestry, I found that Bakarhythm's great-grandfather, Yaheiji Hara, was involved in a counterfeit money case.
Bakarhythm's grandmother and mother (Sukiko) were also amazing.
Grandfather Ganzo was the heir to a landowner's estate and a navigator for a shipping company, but he sold off his many rental houses and even borrowed money from bad friends for gambling on bicycle races and other activities.
My grandmother, who had grown up as a young lady, changed her mind and moved with her six children from Tagawa to Fukuoka to live in a tenement house after getting divorced.
His mother at the time of the third-party interview had lost his father and grandfather one after the other, so his mother pushed him to "just get well" and "let him do what he wants," even though his teacher had told him to stop because "there is no future in comedy work".
Watching this TV broadcast, I felt as if I had once again learned the roots of Mr. Bakarhythm, who has even won the Kuniko Mukoda Award, and his multi-faceted career.
