キース・ジャレット率いるスタンダーズの『Standards vol.1』。

今なお、最も人気のあるピアノトリオの一組です
キースの透明感あるピアノ、ゲーリー・ピーコックの太く技巧的なベース、時に精密・時に荒々しいビートのデジョネットのドラム。
この3人が本来オリジナルをガツガツやってるのを横において、スタンダードナンバーに正面向き合って、彼らの解釈を披露したアルバム。
なので、原曲はご存知の方も多いと思いますが、聴いてて
「ん？こんなんだっけ？？」
って思う曲もあります。
それがこのアルバムの楽しみ方だと思います。
『All The Things You Are』は私とって正にそんな曲。
おススメは最終曲の『God Bless the Child』。
原曲はビリー・ホリデイが母と金をめぐって口論した際にできた詩何だそうで下記の通り。

といった具合に何とも生々しいというか、辛気臭いというような詩なのですが、これをスタンダーズの面々はとても楽しく解釈する。
何とも明るく綺麗な唄だ。
13分を超える演奏だが、何とも聴ける。
3人のインタープレイの高さゆえ。

なお、アルバム中ではキースが唸ってます。
ホントに唸りまくってます。
あまりに気になる方はヘッドフォンや大音量のスピーカーで聴くと「イラッ！」ってくるかも。
私は時々イラッとします(笑)
