先日、虎ノ門いきいきプラザ（とらトピア）で詩吟関係の理事会に出席してきました。途中、福島県矢祭町に法事で帰省していた同級生から、塙町で飲食店を営んでいる同級生のお店について、問い合わせの電話がありました。
「きがる庵だよ」と教えてあげました。今夜、家族で食べにいくそうで、「こっちはだいぶ涼しいよ」と言っていました。
私は、横浜に戻る前に一服したくなり、「そういえば虎ノ門ヒルズの喫煙所って行ったことないなぁ」と思い、守衛さんにお聞きして3階の喫煙所を初めて使わせていただきました。
初めて見る円形のスタンド灰皿が8脚と、窓辺に固定式の灰皿があり、眼下にリーボックの店舗が見えました。
天井も高く、こんな居心地の良い喫煙所があったのか、と嬉しくなりました。
それから、2階には円形テーブルと椅子がずらっと並ぶフリースペースがあり、理事会で出たお茶ともみじ饅頭を美味しくいただきました。こんな贅沢な無料のスペースがあったなんて、これまた初めて知りました。
The other day I was at Toranomon Iki-iki Plaza (Toratopia) to attend a board meeting related to shigin.
On the way there, I received a phone call from a classmate who had returned to Yamatsuri Town, Higashishirakawa County, Fukushima Prefecture, for a Buddhist memorial service, inquiring about Nemoto's restaurant in Hanawa Town.

I told him, "It's Kigaruan".
He said he was going to eat there with his family tonight and said, "It's much cooler here".

I wanted to have a smoke before returning to Yokohama, and thinking "come to think of it, I've never been to the smoking area at Toranomon Hills," I asked the guard and was allowed to use the smoking area on the third floor for the first time.

There were eight circular stand ashtrays, the first I had ever seen, and a fixed ashtray in the window, with a view of the Reebok store below.

The ceiling was high, and I was happy to see such a cozy smoking area.

Then, on the second floor, there was a free space with a row of round tables and chairs, where we enjoyed tea and momiji manju, which were served at the board meeting.
This was also the first time I had heard of such a luxurious free space.
