たばこの気持ち

この半年ほど、気掛かりし事多かりて、活字を追う体力乏しくなりて候

しかれども、じっと耐えし時を経て、体力回復の兆しあり

野毛「はなみち」酒房の行列に並びし45分、読みかけし福沢諭吉著「西洋事情」に没頭し候

我、もう大丈夫と確信できしといえども、所詮、悩み迷いはつきものなりしゆえ、死ぬまで反復するものと覚悟せり

Over the past six months, I have had many worries and I have lost the stamina to keep up with the printed word.

However, after enduring the time, I have seen signs of recovery.

I waited in line at the Noge "Hanamichi" bar for 45 minutes, and was engrossed in the book "Western Affairs" by Fukuzawa Yukichi that I had been reading.

I was sure that I was okay, but worries and doubts were inevitable, so I resolved to keep repeating them until I die.
