たばこの気持ち

今週の日本テレビ「月曜から夜ふかし」では、農家さんへのインタビュー（作りたい農産物）が面白かったですね

とくに、茨城県の葉たばこ農家さんのお話が秀悦でした

葉たばこ農家を営むご夫婦は、「もう一度やるとしたら」という問いに対して「やっぱり葉たばこ農家がいい」ときっぱり答えたのです

その理由として

①契約栽培であることから、長期的に経営が安定していること

②全量買い上げで、出来の悪い葉たばこでも買い入れてくれること

③自然災害などによる収穫減少に対しても、手厚い補償があること

などでした

私は葉農家に生まれ育ったので、とても嬉しくテレビの画面を見ていました

「作るのも吸うのもやめられない」という言葉に、もらい泣きしそうになりました

This week's episode of Nippon Television's "Monday Late Show" featured interesting interviews with farmers (about what agricultural products they would like to grow).

The story of a tobacco leaf farmer in Ibaraki Prefecture was particularly fascinating.

When asked "If I were to do it again," the couple who run a tobacco leaf farm answered decisively, "I would definitely want to be a tobacco leaf farmer."

The reasons given were:

1) Because it is contract cultivation, the business is stable over the long term.

2) They buy all the tobacco leaves, even the poor quality ones.

3) They provide generous compensation for reduced yields due to natural disasters, etc.

I was born and raised on a tobacco leaf farm, so I was very happy to watch the TV screen.

I almost cried when I heard the words, "I can't stop growing and smoking."
