「あきらめ」に相当する言葉が、今のところ見あたらないのが気になっている。竜馬的な勘でいうなら、「あきらめ」（英語で何というのだ？）という言葉をアン・リンドバーグが使ったとは考えにくく、翻訳者が「仕込んだ」気配なしとしない。
a simple acceptance と「あきらめ」は違うものだ。その違いに鈍感な人に、この文を訳してほしくない。
