福島県東白川郡塙町で天寿を全うした父は、壮年期において酒癖が良いとは言えませんでした。
とくに、お酒を飲むと外では明るく振る舞い、家では好き放題の暴君のようでした。
私の祖母は、幼い孫の私に「私は夫も長男も大酒飲みで、それをずっと見てきたから、お前は絶対お酒を飲むんじゃないぞ」と言って聞かせました。
その呪縛もあってなのか、私は60歳を過ぎる頃まで、本当のお酒の美味しさを知りませんでした。
私は宴席での会話や、友人たちとの飲み会は好きでしたが、乾杯のあとはウーロン茶を飲んでいるような人間でした。
しかし、お酒の美味しさを知り、酒量も少し増え、昼間からでも飲むようになりました。
そして、家庭内で暴君のようには、今の力関係からすると不可能ですが、私は父のように飲むと明るくなります。
気が大きくなって、SNSにぽんぽんと投稿したり、やたらと見知らぬ人に話しかけたりします。
そんな振る舞いをした翌朝、う〜ん🧐昨日のことを思い出したら、とても恥ずかしいなぁと身が縮む想いにさいなまされるのです。
きっと、父もそうだったに違いないと、私は今になって痛感するのです。
そんな父は、連れ合いの妻に先立たれ、75歳の頃からあれほど好きだったたばこ🚬とお酒をやめました。
というわけで、本日の私のお弁当は妻特製の唐揚げでした。たばこは、いろいろ吸っています。

The morning after I behave in such a way, I remember what I did yesterday, and I feel a sense of shame and a sense of shrinking.
I realize now that my father must have been the same way.
My father gave up smoking and drinking, which he loved so much, when he was 75 years old after his wife passed away.
So my lunch today was my wife's special fried chicken. As for cigarettes, I smoke a variety of cigarettes.
