世界の宗教人口調査

12月18日のNBCの記事をきっかけに少しツイートしたことを備忘のため纏めておきます。
特に意見はなく、ふーん、と思っただけです。

世界の宗教人口調査において、特定の宗教を信仰していない人が第三番目のグループを占めると云々。中国・日本はこのグループが最多の割合。

The unaffiliated rank third among world religion groups, Pew study says

Roughly one in six people around the world has no religious affiliation, a new study by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life found, making the unaffiliated the third-largest religious group worldwide, behind Christians and Muslims, and about equal in size to the world’s Catholic population.
The religiously unaffiliated population includes atheists, agnostics and people who do not identify with any particular religion in surveys, the study issued Tuesday reads. Many of the religiously unaffiliated, however, hold religious or spiritual beliefs, the study emphasized.

キリスト教がトップで22億・32％、ついでイスラム教が16億・23％、三番目がunaffiliated で11億・16％、以下、ヒンズー教10億・15％、仏教5億・7％。

other religionsとして例示されているのが the Baha’i faith（バハイ）、 Jainism（ジャイナ）、 Sikhism（シーク）、 Shintoism、 Taoism、 Tenrikyo,、Wicca（ウィッカ）、Zoroastrianism。

神道と天理教が並置されているのが若干妙な感じ。また、Religiously Unaffiliated については別ページで解説がある。

単純に無宗教という訳ではなくて、atheists（無神論者）、agnostics（不可知論者）、そして特定の宗教には帰属しない人々となっている。Unaffiliatedであっても、かなりの割合で「神もしくは高次の存在」を信じていたり、宗教的な儀式に参加していると云々。

Religiously Unaffiliated　はアジア・太平洋に集中しており、Unaffiliated全体の76％を占めている。そして中国一国で全体の62％。Unaffiliatedが最多の割合を占める国は6か国で、チェコ（76％）北朝鮮（71％）エストニア（60％）日本（57％）香港（57％）中国（52％）。チェコ・エストニアで率が高いのは旧共産圏という以外に何か理由があるのかな。
