The program which The Warabe dances on this video is three folk songs of the Kanto district. It is "Itako-Ondo", "Itako-Jinku" and "choshi-tairyobushi". These three folk songs were sung around Tonegawa River water system from the Edo era. Itako is the area that prospered very much as a important port of the transportation by water in earlier period of Edo era. Choshi is located in the area facing the Pacific Ocean of the Tonegawa mouth of a river, and prospered as a fishing port from ancient times. Itako is the birthplace of the folk song eminent in Japan. The melody of a folk song born in Itako is called "Itako-bushi". I shot this video at the time of "Kumamoto-Castle Festival 2011 autumns". This program is one of the repertories good at The Warabe.
ザ・わらべが踊るこの演目は関東地方の三つの民謡で構成されています。「潮来音頭」、「潮来甚句」そして「銚子大漁節」がその三つです。この三つの民謡はいずれも利根川水系の周辺地域で江戸時代から唄われてきたものです。潮来は利根川水運の重要な港として江戸時代前期から栄えました。銚子は利根川河口の太平洋に面した漁港として古くから繁栄しました。潮来は民謡の発祥地として日本全国でも有名です。潮来で生まれた民謡の旋律を「潮来節（曲）」と呼んでいます。このビデオ映像は昨年の「秋のくまもとお城まつり」の時に撮影したものです。この演目はザ・わらべが得意な演目のうちの一つです。
