Rainbow Bridge   虹の橋   Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.  天国の入り口に　ある場所、それが、虹の橋のたもと　   When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, 飼い主にとって、かけがえのない大切な存在。そんなペット達が   that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. 虹の橋のたもと’へ逝くのです。   There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends 私たちの特別な友達(ペット）の田園と丘が広がり   so they can run and play together. みんな仲よく、楽しく駆け回る   There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and 沢山の食べ物と水。太陽がふりそそぎ   our friends are warm and comfortable.  どの子たちもみんな、やさしく、心地良く暮らす。   All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;  病気で、よぼよぼだったペットたちばかり。今は　活力を取り戻し   those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, 傷ついた体もすっかり、回復して元通り。   just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  過ぎ去った思い出の中、飼い主と過ごした元気な姿そのままで   The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing:  彼らは幸せに満ち足りている、たった一つのことを除いて ・・・   they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. どの子も会いたいあの人に、この世に残してきた特別なあの人に   They all run and play together, 皆一緒に、今日も走り、遊びまわる。   but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. 突然その日がやって来る。一匹が、足を止めて、じっと遠く向こうを見つめる   His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. 彼の輝いた瞳が何かを理解する。　待ちに待っていた体が震え始める   Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and　faster 仲間から飛び出して、いきなりかけ始める。そう、緑の草を飛ぶように、速く。  もっと、速く。    You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, 飼い主もまさに立ち止まる。即別な友達と、やっと、会えるその時に   you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. 喜びで一杯。抱きあう。再び会えた、もう別れないよ。　   The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the 君の顔を嘗め回す。キスの応酬。顔にも手にも　君もそれに応える   beloved head, その子の頭をなで回し愛しく愛しく。   and you look once more into those trusting eyes, そこで君は再び、覗き込む。変わらない信頼に満ちたその瞳を。    so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. ほんとに長い間、遠く離れていたね。でも、心の中に、いつも居たよ   Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together... さあ、一緒に、虹の橋を渡るんだ。   *Author Unknown*　”作者不明
