８月６日、白内障の手術を受けた。右眼を覆っていた眼帯が取れ、術後10日ほど経ってから、久しぶりに立田自然公園を訪れた。これまで数えきれない程訪れているのに、まるで初めて見たかのような新鮮な感動があった。夏の青い空と白い雲、新緑の輝きなど目に映る風景の鮮やかな色彩に感動した。子供の頃、初めて総天然色の映画を見た時のような感動があった。長い間、よほど色彩感覚が鈍っていたのだろう。あらためてわれわれが住む地球の色彩の見事さとそれを感じ取る人間の視覚の凄さを再認識した。
