昨日に続いて、虹の橋の続編です。
昨日の詩では、愛する特別の存在として生きてきたペットたちと
虹の橋で再開しました。
今日はどういう展開が起こるのでしょうか？

But one day, as they run and play
,ある日のこと、遊んで飛び回っているときに
they notice someone standing by the road to the bridge.
誰かが橋に繋がる道に佇んでいるのに気が付く
This person wistfully watches the reunions of friends,
この人は、友達と心をかよわせられるのか窺（うかが）
っている様子
for during life, this person had no pet.
なぜって、彼にはペットを飼った経験が無かったから。
This person was beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.
この人は、生きていたとき、打たれて、飢えの中で、
拷問を受けてきたんだ、愛されることなしに。
Standing there alone, one of the unloved pets approaches
,一人ぼっちでそこにたっていた。
すると、一匹の愛されたことのないペットが 近づいて来た。
curious as to why this one is alone
何故この男が、一人ぼっちなのか、ちょっと興味が湧いてきて。
And as the unloved pet and the unloved person get nearer
to each other,
この子も愛情をもらえず、飼い主とは、互いに冷たい間柄
だった、愛を知らない子
a miracle occurs,
奇蹟が起きる
for these are the ones who were meant to be together,
ここで一緒にいるっていうことは、これからも一緒に
なれるっていうこと。
the special person and the beloved pet
こんな特別な人には愛深いペットが必要
who never had the chance to meet while on Earth.
地球の上で会うこともなく生きていた二人だけど。
Finally, now, at the edge of the Rainbow Bridge,
やっと、今、虹の橋の 先っちょで会えたのだ。
their souls meet, the pain and the sorrow disappears,
二人の魂が出会ったとき 今までの、痛みと悲しみが
消えていく
and two friends are together.
こうして、彼とその子は いつも一緒の友達になった。
They cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to
be separated.
一緒に虹の橋を渡ろう。
もう、離れることは絶対ないよ。
