キース・ヘリング

穏やかな御天気につられて森ビルの「キース・ヘリング展」に出かけて行った。

８０年代住んでいたNYのMOMAでジャスパー・ジョーンズの作品を見てからアメリカン・ポップ・アートにはまっている。

アンディ・ウォーホル、ロイ・リキテンスタイン、草間彌生など好きだがこの展覧会でヘリングが益々好きになった。

当時地下鉄駅で落書きを書ていたヘリングが脱皮してポップ・アートの旗手となったのはあまりにも有名である。

あの頃NY ではエイズが蔓延していたが彼も３２歳でエイズで死亡した。

I went to the Keith Haring exhibition at Mori Building, inspired by the calm weather.

I became fascinated with American Pop Art since I saw Jasper Johns' works at MoMA in NY where I lived in the 80s.

I like artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Yayoi Kusama, but my appreciation for Haring grew even more after visiting this exhibition.

Haring, who used to graffiti in subway stations at that time, underwent a transformation and became a leading figure in Pop Art, a fact widely known.

During those days, AIDS was prevalent in NY, and he also succumbed to it at the age of 32.
