ちいさな花たちが咲ている。
秋明菊 Japanese Anemone. 貴船菊とも言われている。

Under autumn beautiful sunlight, small flower are blooming at many places of our garden.

ハローウインが近づいて、街のあちらこちらに
飾りが見られる。
これは、青山のフローリストの店先で。
Halloween is coming soon and at many places of the town, the decorations are seen.
This is the storefront of the florist at Aoyama.
１０月２２日
”ミスターマスダの「陶」” を上梓した。家内・息子をはじめ友人のお力を借りながらの出版である。
内容は小生の陶芸作品の図録で自称傑作から駄作までを厳選した１６０ページ総天然色の写真集である。
内容は兎も角、本の装丁、製本の出来栄えは最高である。
I published "Sue" of "Mr. Masuda".
It is publication while I had the help of the friends including my wife & son.
The contents are the pictorial record of my ceramic art work.
It is a collection of photographs of the 160 pages total natural colouring.
The contents of the book are not best, but the design sand workmanship of the binding are the best.

ミスターマスダは先週日曜日に家族から米寿のお祝いをしてもらった。
次の目標は健康で卒寿を迎える事だ。
Mr. Masuda had a celebration of Beiju ( the eighty-eighth birthday) from his family on last Sunday.
The next aim is to reach Sotsujiu(90th birthday) with good health.

メルボルンに赴任中の次男が出張帰国。
オーストラリア・アーノッツのビスケットをいっぱい持って、、、。
昔、二人の息子が幼少の頃七年余り住んだ日々の「おやつ」であった。
ミセスマスダはこのゴージャス感が好きで、,懐かしい、懐かしいと大感激している。
The second son returned home on a business trip from Melbourne .
He has a lot of biscuits of Australia ARNOTT'S.
It was the Australian daily "snacks" for her two sons lived in childhood in old days at Australia.
Mrs. Masuda likes this gorgeous feeling.

夏の終りと秋の訪れが行ったり来たりしているような
日。それにしても今年の気候はミステリアスだ。
ゼフィランサスが咲き始めた。花数はとても少ないが、真っ白な花の愛らしさは
とても素晴らしい。
夏を惜しむかのように、花は小さくなってしまったが、ダリアが咲き継ぐ。
A summer end and autumn arrival.
Still, the climate of this year is a mystery weather.
Zephyranthes has begun to bloom.
There is very little number of the flowers, but the loveliness of the pure white flower is splendid at all.
The flower has become small as I regret summer, but a Dahlia blooms.
１０月７日
ミセス・マスダの歌友Sさんが萩銘菓「萩の薫」－蜜柑の砂糖漬けーを
贈って下さった。ミセスマスダの大好物、その喜び様は大層な物。
九月から十一月の間だけ作られるという蜜柑の子供の砂糖漬け「青切り」の
緑が美しい。これから暫く、老い二人の抹茶タイムは幸せいっぱいであろう・・・・。
Mrs. Masuda's poem companion, Mrs. S, kindly presented "Hagi no Kaori" - candied mandarin oranges, a specialty confection from Hagi.
It's Mrs. Masuda's favorite, and her delight is quite evident. The candied mandarin oranges, available only between September and November, are beautifully green with a process called "aogiri."
From now on, their tea time for the elderly couple will be filled with happiness for a while.

此の秋、どちらでも彼岸花の開花が随分遅れたと聞いているが、我家でも二週間ほど
遅れて白彼岸花が咲き始めた。
ミセス・マスダが短歌の友人Oさん―当時Oさんは９３歳だったーから球根を頂いて以来
二十年余り、毎年美しい花を見せてくれる。
This autumn, I've heard that the blooming of red spider lilies has been considerably delayed in either location, and at our home as well, the white spider lilies started blooming about two weeks late.
Since Mrs. Masuda received bulbs from her 93-year-old friend O-san, a tanka poet, more than twenty years ago, they have shown us beautiful flowers every year.
