「うさぎや」のお菓子で御茶を。

１０月３０日（金）

昨日、ミセスマスダは好天に誘われて買物かたがた散歩に出かけた。

丸の内・日本橋辺りを歩いてきたそうで、「パレスホテル」ではクッキーを

「うさぎや」では半生菓子を買ったようだ。

ここはどら焼きが有名だが、我家ではこの和菓子が好物である。

Yesterday, Mrs. Masuda went for a walk and shopping in Marunouchi 

and Nihonbashi under the fine weather.
She purchased a cookie at Palace Hotel and Japanese cake at Usagiya.
Dorayaki pan cake is famous at Usagiya but this Japanese cake is a favorite in my family.

藍

１０月２９日（木）

庭のあちらこちらで、晩夏からずっと桃色の花を見せていた藍、

このところの朝夕も冷え込みに秋の色に移り変わってきた。

藍染めの染料として大事な植物である。

An indigo plant made a pink flower bloom at many places of our garden on summer end.
The indigo plant changed in an autumn color due to the cooling of morning and evening.
An indigo plant is important plant for the indigo dyeing.

チーズフォンデュウ

１０月２７日（火）

秋の深まりとともに暖かな食事が恋しくなってきた。

今日の昼食はチーズフォンデュウ。

A climate cooled down, and I wanted  a warm rich meal.
I decided to have a lunch of the cheese fondue. 

秋明菊

1０月２５日（日）

秋明菊がやっと咲き始めた。例年、秋の彼岸頃咲くのだが、今年は一か月も遅れている。

京都・貴船辺りに多く見られることから貴船菊との別名を持つ。

A Shuumei Chrysanthemum( A Japanese anemone) bloomed at our garden.
It blooms in the early autumn usually.
One month delayed this year.
It blooms around Kyoto Kibune district , so that it has an
another name Kibune Chrysanthemum.

焼き松茸

１０月２２日（木）

今日は父の命日だ。

松茸を好んだ父の仏壇に供えた後、焼き松茸で食した。

It is an anniversary of my father's death today. 

I offered the matsutake mushroom which was a favorite of father in the Buddhist altar.　

A matsutake mushroom is like the good harvest this autumn.

アル・ポルト

１０月１９日（月）

長い間、フランス料理店やイタリア料理店での食事が出来ないでいたが

もうそろそろいいだろうと出掛ける事にした。

最近、ハワイのカハラ・ホテルが横浜にオープンしたのでそこへと思ったが、

十一月いっ杯までは予約が入っているという。

仕方がないので、西麻布のイタリアン「アル・ポルト」の横浜店に行くことになった。

久し振りなのでフルコースを。

前菜三種

主菜、今日は甘鯛を。

デザート

主菜の前に、ホタテのオーヴン焼き。

キノコのリゾットがあったのだが写真を撮り忘れてしまった。

今日のビッグ・ランチは中々結構でした。

Long time, we were not able to eat in the French and Italian restaurants.
HOTEL THE KAHARA of Hawaii opened at Yokohama recently.
The reservation for the restaurant at THE KAHARA was fully booked until November.
So that, we and elder son went to another Italian restaurant Al Porto 

without being able to endure. It was a full-course meal.

レモンの実

１０月１７日（土）

今年もレモンが二百個ほど実った。

二十年余前に植えた鉢植えのレモンが、大樹となって毎年豊かな実りを見せる。

無農薬育ちという事でレモンカードを作っても安心だと友人達にも喜ばれる。

The lemon tree  at our garden produced 200 fruits this year.
The  tree which I planted more than 20 years ago became big.

I got  many fruits  from it every year.  It is pesticide free.

I was pleased that my friend felt relieved when they  made lemon curd.

ほととぎす

１０月１６日（金）

庭の一番隅っこ、物干し場の下にほととぎすが咲き始めた。

朝夕の冷気に葉先が傷んでいるのも風情かな？

花は極上の美しさ。

[Hototogisu flower] bloomed at our backyard.
Is it taste that a tip of a leaf is damaged by the chill of morning and evening?

ベゴニア

１０月５日（月）

ベゴニアの花言葉は「親切」、「幸福な日々」だそうだ。

小さな鉢に丹精している赤・白・桃色の花が行儀よく揃って咲き始めた。

The flower language of the Begonia seems to be " kind" and "happy days".
A pink, red and white flowers have begun to bloom into the small bowl all together.

丹波の松茸

１０月５日（月）

奇特な方がいらっしゃる。季節になると土地の産物を贈ってくれる。

昔お仕事で色々お世話したりされたりの仲である。

今回は松茸と丹波栗である。

早速「焼き松茸」で頂いた。香り松茸に偽りなし。

A laudable person exists.
He and I helped each other by work in various ways at old days.
When it is a season, he gives us a harvests of his country.
It is matsutake mushroom and Tanba chestnut this time.
We had "a baked matsutake mushroom" at lunch at once.
There is no doubt that a fragrance of the matsutake mushroom is the best..

白い花

１０月４日（日）

門扉の下、檸檬の木の下辺りに、この白い花が咲いている。

This white flower blooms under  the lemon  tree  near our front gate.

「西王母」

1０月３日（土）

早咲きの椿「西王母」の初花、一輪が咲いた。莟は沢山見える。

ミセスマスダが、十年程前、その時九十三歳くらいだった歌友から

鉢植えの「西王母」を頂いた。

土に下して、ニメートル位にまで育った。新春・節分の頃まで次々と咲く。

One of the early blooming Camellia "Seioubo"   bloomed at our garden.
There are a lot of buds.
Mrs. Masuda was given the potted Camellia "Seioubo" by a  93-years-

olld friend of poet ten yers ago,

She put the camellia on soil after that. It grew up around 2 meters high now.
The flower blooms in sequence until the time of the  early spring.
