Japan's Princess Mako is getting married to a man she met at university. People in Japan say they're delighted to hear the news.
Princess Mako is 25. She is the eldest daughter of Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko, and the first grandchild of the Emperor.
Sources tell NHK she is getting engaged to Kei Komuro, who works for a law firm. He lives in Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo, and is known for participating in a tourism campaign promoting a city there.
The couple met about five years ago at a party for students interested in studying abroad. Sources say the princess introduced Komuro to her parents and received their approval. Their relationship has also been reported to the Emperor and the Empress.
The wedding will likely be held next year.
