キリシマツツジとはツツジ科の植物の一種。学名Rhododendron × obtusum 。別名キリシマ、ホンキリシマ、サタツツジ。
常緑低木で、4月から5月頃に小ぶりの花を開花させる。庭木や公園木にしたり、鉢植、切花に使われる。多くの園芸品種がある。

【漢文】
子曰、如有周公之才之美、使驕且吝、其餘不足觀也已矣。

【書き下し文】
子曰わく、如(も)し周公(しゅうこう)の才の美ありとも、驕(おご)り且(か)つ吝(やぶさ)かならしめば、其(そ)の余(よ)は観るに足らざるのみ。

【通釈】
孔子がおっしゃいました、
「もし周公(しゅうこう)の様な多くの才能を持っていたとしても、人柄が傲慢でけちん坊であったなら、その他のことについて見定める必要は無い」
「もし才能の点では周公に比べられるような優秀な人でも、傲慢に加えて吝嗇であったなら、凡ては帳消しにされて見るにたえない」
【English】
Confucius said, "If someone is arrogant and stingy, you don't have to observe him anymore even if he has a lot of talents like Zhougong Dan."

「末つひに雲ゐの龍となりぬへし川瀬をのほる鯉の勢ひ　応需真春」

広重の観察眼の鋭さを如実に示すのがこの「魚づくし」。
最初は摺物、つまり狂歌・俳句・暦などに絵を添えて摺ったものとして、出版されたのがこのシリーズ。

２２歳になるまで、私に障害があることを、私も、誰もわからなかった。子供のころから人間関係に戸惑う「生きづらさ」を抱えながら、人に支えられて前向きに生きてきた私。
障害も一つの個性ととらえ、理解してほしい。
一人ひとりがそれぞれに輝ける世の中になってほしい。
――磨けば輝く「どろだんご」にそんな願いを重ね、広汎性発達障害当事者の思いと望みを語った一冊。

1986年生まれ。
中国地方出身、在住。
国立大学理学部数学科卒業。
実用数学技能検定準1級合格。
数学コーチャープロA級ライセンス取得。
公立中学校教諭（数学）として教鞭をとるも、2年半後に休職。
広汎性発達障害の診断を受ける。

【印象に残った一行】
どろだんごを作ると、一人ひとり色も大きさも異なりますが、磨けばかならずピカピカに光ります。
くずれてもこわれても、何度も作り直せます・
障害も一つの個性ととらえ、一人ひとりが輝ける、そんな世の中になってほしいという気持ちを題名の「どろだんご」に込めました。
人生もどろだんごみたいなもの。
何度もやり直せるし、必ず輝く時はある。
誰もが輝ける素材を持っていると信じています。

【コメント】
障害と正面から向き合っている著者の姿勢には感銘を受けた。
