MEDICS PUT JEST TO THE TEST"笑い”でがん治療に挑戦

2017年06月15日 | 爺英語

Doctors and comedians in Japan are teaming up to find out whether laughter really is the best medicine. They're staging comedy shows for cancer patients and monitoring the effects.

(Katsura Bunshi)
"I hope you will have a good laugh and relieve your stress. Otherwise, I will feel stressed."

The comedians will perform in a hospital in Osaka every two weeks through August. One group of patients will see all eight shows. Another group will only see half of them. The doctors will check whether there's any difference in immune system functions between the two groups.

(Katsura Bunshi)
"If it turns out it works, I'll do whatever I can to help patients get better."
