
A Japanese animation has been smashing box-office records in Asia. "Kimi no na wa," or "Your name.," is now the highest-grossing Japanese movie of all time in China and Thailand.
The film is a bittersweet love story about two high school students who swap bodies. It has been winning director Makoto Shinkai a lot of international attention.
The film's distributor says box-office sales in China have topped nine billion yen, or about 76 million dollars, in less than three weeks. It broke the record set by another Japanese animation, "Stand By Me Doraemon."
"Kimi no na wa" has also earned more than one million dollars in Thailand.
