A swarm of about 25,000 bees caused quite the buzz in the heart of New York's Times Square on Tuesday afternoon.
The bees were attracted to this hot dog stand umbrella at the world-famous tourist destination. Police cordoned off the area. Luckily, no one was hurt.

"I've not seen bees like that without a hive."

"I'm allergic to bees, so I want to see it but keep my distance away from it. But it's definitely the craziest thing I've ever seen."
It took nearly an hour to remove the bees with this device that looks like a vacuum. A beekeeper says the intense heat could have caused the bees to swarm. The temperature was nearly 35 degrees Celsius at the time.
(Beekeeper)
"When the bees are not comfortable, sometimes, some of them leave the hive, and they're looking for a new home."
The bees were released in a separate place.
