【読んだ理由】
ひさしぶりの奥田作品。

【印象に残った一行】
向田理髪店の日常は今日も変わらない。朝の七時に開店して、じっと客を待つ。午前中に来るのは年寄りばかりで、せいぜい二組だ。何時も奥から母が出て来て、話し相手になる。天気のこととか、どこそこの娘がいよいよ嫁に行くらしいとか、そういう話だ。それを聞きながら、康彦は散髪をする。髭まであたって三千七百円。新しい客は来ないから、月の売り上げに上下動はない。

母親は息子を残して自殺なんかしないの。母親は何があろうと、最後まで、息子を信じて庇うものなの。（略）過去の事件を見たって、息子の犯罪に責任を感じて自殺するのはみんな父親でしょ。母親は死なないの。

人の温かさが感じられて涙が・・・・。

NEW-STYLE TAXI TO HIT THE ROAD五輪に向け新型タクシー

Japanese automakers are predicting big numbers of international visitors for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games here in Tokyo. One executive says they're rolling out a next-generation taxi to deal with the rush.
Toyota Motor says its new car will be available from next year. It'll be 20 centimeters taller than the sedan-style taxis that currently cruise Japan's streets. The new one will seat five people and carry two big and two smaller suitcases in the trunk. Current models can carry only two big bags.
It'll also sit lower by five centimeters. That'll make it easier for the elderly and people in wheelchairs.
Nissan Motor has been selling a station wagon-type taxi since 2015. It has got sliding doors and retractable steps for easy access.

憲問第十四の四十

【漢文】
子路宿於石門、晨門曰、奚自、子路曰、自孔氏、是知其不可而爲之者與。

【書き下し文】
子路(しろ)、石門(せきもん)に宿る。晨門(しんもん)曰わく、奚(いず)れよりぞ。子路が曰わく、孔氏よりす。曰わく、是(これ)其の不可なることを知りて而(しか)もこれを為す者か。

【現代語訳】
子路(しろ)が石門で一夜を過ごしました。門番が子路に、
「どちらからおいでですか?」
と尋ねたので、子路は、
「孔先生の弟子だ。」
と答えました。すると門番は、
「あの無理と知りながら理想を追ってる人の弟子ですか。」
と言いました。

【English】
Zi Lu spent a night at the Stone Gate. A gatekeeper asked, "Where are you from?" Zi Lu replied, "I'm Confucius' disciple." The gatekeeper said, "A disciple of the person who is doing wasted efforts with knowing his ideal is impossible?"

『論語』とは
読んで字の如く「論じ語る」、孔子と弟子達や要人達との間に交された対話録。
『論語』は私たちの生き方の原点を見つめた思索の宝庫であり、人間性を磨く叡智が凝縮した永遠の古典。
読めば読むほど胸に深く沁み込む簡潔な言葉の数々。
『孟子』『大学』『中庸』と併せて儒教における「四書」の一つに数えられる。
全20編（学而第一～堯曰第二十） 構成され、編の名称は各編の最初の二文字を採ったものであり内容上の意味はない。
したがって、学而第一から順に読む必要はなくどこから読んでもかまわない。
