1965年北海道生まれ。2002年「雪虫」でオール讀物新人賞を受賞。07年に同作を収録した単行本『氷平線』を刊行。13年『ラブレス』で島清恋愛文学賞を受賞。同年、『ホテルローヤル』で第一四九回直木賞を受賞し、ベストセラーとなる

著者の作品「ホテルローヤル」が好きだっから。

【最も印象に残った一行】
二人を単位にして始まった家族は、子供を生んで巣立ちを迎え、また二人に戻る。そして、最後はひとりになって記憶も散り、家族としての役割を終える。人の世は伸びては縮む蛇腹のようだ。

【コメント】「「ホテルローヤル」以来だが、読みやすく、内容は重いのだが、何故か読後感は爽やかで、前向きな気持ちが湧いてくる。
