Hundreds of demonstrators were detained in nationwide anti-corruption protests across Russia on Sunday, including opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
Police say 8,000 took to the streets in Moscow. They're the biggest anti-government rallies since Vladimir Putin returned to power in 2012. Navalny was detained along with roughly 500 people.
His criticism of Putin has intensified recently. He published a report detailing how Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev amassed wealth in the form of mansions and yachts.
Navalny also intends to run in next year's presidential election.
