There's excitementChina is rushing to contain the deadly new coronavirus. Twenty-six people have died. A total of 830 have been infected in the country. The virus is also being reported in a growing number of other nations and territories.
China's Lunar New Year holiday is now underway. It's typically the country's busiest travel season, but a growing area around the ground zero city of Wuhan is in lockdown. Many foreigners are unable to get home. Outbound trains and flights have been suspended. Buses and subways have also been halted.
State-run TV shows workers rushing to prepare a site for a new hospital to be used only for pneumonia patients. Authorities aim to have it ready within two weeks.
China's state-run Xinhua News Agency says typical signs of pneumonia such as a fever and cough are not the only initial symptoms. It says many patients had diarrhea, nausea, headache, fatigue, or problems with their digestive or nervous systems, making early diagnosis difficult.
