
Former U.S. President Barack Obama has sharply criticized American leaders for their response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Obama delivered an online commencement address to historically black colleges and universities on Saturday.

"This pandemic has fully finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they're doing. A lot of them aren't even pretending to be in charge."
Obama didn't mention President Donald Trump by name. But some observers believe his comments were aimed at his successor.
Obama has made few political remarks since leaving office three years ago and has rarely publicly criticized the Trump administration.
The former president also sounded an alarm over growing divisions in the U.S. and called for unity.
