摩訶（まか）とは
摩訶とは、サンスクリット語（梵語＝ぼんご）のmahaマハーをそのまま漢字に書き換えたもので、「偉大な」とか「大いなる」と訳すことができる。
それも大小を比較しての大きさではなく比較を超えた大きさ。摩訶不思議とよく言われるが、これも非常に不思議だ、というのではなく、人の思量を絶するほど不可思議であるという意味。
「摩訶波羅蜜多心経」というお経の題＝経題の中で、経文の本文中の中にないのは「摩訶」だけ。
およそ「題は一部の惣標」といわれるように、書物の題、すなわちその名前というものは、その書物が示さんとする内容を最もよく表しているもの、最近は羊頭狗肉のものが多々あるが。
経題も、同様に経典の教えの要を、コンパクトに印象づけるキャッチフレーズの役割がある。
したがって、「般若心経」の内容に人々の心を一瞬で惹きつけるために、漢訳者の玄奘三蔵がインパクトのある「摩訶」を用いたのであろう。

【印象に残った一行】
おばあちゃんたちと仕事をしていく中で「目線を合わせる」ことの大切さを私は痛感した。「解りやすく、具体的に伝える」ことの大切さだ。
常に現場の目線のラインを一定にして、いつも一緒の目線で見てやっていく。上から見下ろす目線でやらない。学校でも、社会でも、スポ－ツでも、これは基本だと思う。
目線をあえあせてやっていくことによって、お互いのことが理解できていくのだ。

富くじの久蔵で、富久。火事で翻弄される大酒飲みの幇間、久蔵の物語。
「火事と喧嘩は江戸の花」というのは負け惜しみだろう。オランダ商館長一行が目撃して描いた明暦の大火（一六五七年）のスケッチなど見ると、そう思う。信じがたいほど一面の焼け野原となった江戸のあちこちに死体が散乱している。江戸の約六割が消失し、十万人の死者が出たと言われている。その後、さらなる火消し組織が作られ武家の定火消しと町方の町火消しが誕生したが、それでも大小の火事がなくなったわけではない。江戸では幕末までに十回の大火事と無数の小火事があった。京都や大阪でもそれぞれその半分の回数の大火事は起こっている。広小路や火除け地を設けたり、大店では財産を守るために地下室を造り、火の手が近づくと大事なものはそこに入れるなど工夫が重ねられた。長屋ではそういう場所もない。持って逃げるしか手がないので、身軽に暮らすのが一番だった。

【あらすじ】
浅草阿倍川町に住む、酒癖が悪くて贔屓（ひいき）のお客さんをことごとくしくじって、年の瀬を迎えた幇間の久蔵は、たまたま買った富札「松の百十番」、大神宮のお宮にお札を納めて、千両当たったら、ああする、こうすると、考えながら寝入ってしまう。
夜半日本橋横山町の元の旦那越後屋さんが火事だという。急いで駆けつけると、出入りを許され力仕事を手伝うが、ろくな手伝いもできないで居ると、火事は消えて一安心。見舞い客の手伝いをしながら、主人の許しを得て一杯やっていると、疲れも出て寝入ってしまう。また半鐘が鳴り、聞くと、久蔵の住まい安倍川町だという。
急いで戻ると、長屋は丸焼け。ガッカリして横山町に戻って居候をしている。旦那の好意で元のお客さん回りを始めるが、深川八幡で興行される富の当日、見事千両富に当たる。
しかし、富札が無くては一文も貰えないと分かると、気落ちして安倍川町に戻ってくる。そこで鳶の頭に会い、大神宮さんの神棚を火事場から持ち出したという。気が触れたようになりながら神棚を開けると、富札がそこに無事有った。無礼を頭に詫びて、いきさつを話すと、頭は「この暮れに千両、おめでたいな～、おい、久さん、どうするぃ」、
「へぇ、これも大神宮様のお陰でございます。ご近所のお祓い（＝お払い）をいたします」。

夜半日本橋横山町の元の旦那越後屋さんが火事だという。急いで駆けつけると、出入りを許され力仕事を手伝うが、ろくな手伝いもできないで居ると、火事は消えて一安心。見舞い客の手伝いをしながら、主人の許しを得て一杯やっていると、疲れも出て寝入ってしまう。また半鐘が鳴り、聞くと、久蔵の住まい安倍川町だという。
急いで戻ると、長屋は丸焼け。ガッカリして横山町に戻って居候をしている。旦那の好意で元のお客さん回りを始めるが、深川八幡で興行される富の当日、見事千両富に当たる。
しかし、富札が無くては一文も貰えないと分かると、気落ちして安倍川町に戻ってくる。そこで鳶の頭に会い、大神宮さんの神棚を火事場から持ち出したという。気が触れたようになりながら神棚を開けると、富札がそこに無事有った。無礼を頭に詫びて、いきさつを話すと、頭は「この暮れに千両、おめでたいな～、おい、久さん、どうするぃ」、
「へぇ、これも大神宮様のお陰でございます。ご近所のお祓い（＝お払い）をいたします」。

【火事見舞い】江戸時代には、本店・出店（支店）・お得意・親戚・知人の家に，出火または近火があると、昼間でも屋号・名前を印した弓張提灯をかざして見舞いにかけつけた。
【大神宮様】江戸時代から明治期にかけては、商家はもちろん、長屋の連中でさえ、少し余裕のある者は、特別に棚をしつらえて代神宮様（伊勢神宮）を祀っていた。
【お祓い】江戸時代から明治初年にかけての慣わしで、毎年十二月になると、伊勢神宮の内宮・外宮の御師が、新しいお札を持って、各商家などをお払い・祈祷して歩いた。
