人が人を食うという妄想にとりつかれた「狂人日記」の「おれ」，貧しい日雇い農民でどんなに馬鹿にされても「精神的勝利法」によって意気軒昂たる阿Q．表題二作とも辛亥革命前後の時代を背景に，妄想者の意識・行動をたどりながら，中国社会の欺瞞性を鋭くえぐり出す．魯迅最初の作品集『吶喊』の全訳．

◆著者紹介◆
（1881～1936）本名・周樹人。中国浙江省の地主兼官僚の家に生まれるが、祖父の贈収賄事件後、父が病死して没落する。1898年南京で学び、1902年から日本に留学している。帰国後は大学で教鞭を執りながら、執筆活動を精力的に行う。

【読んだ理由】
「読んでおきたい世界の名著」（三浦朱門編）を読んで。

【コメント】
辛亥革命前後を背景に「精神的勝利法」の弱点と、革命の際に殺害される、定職を持たず、村人に愚弄される独身で文盲の日雇い人夫・阿Qの悲喜劇が、革命と民衆を通して描かれているが、イマイチ私には良く理解できなかった。
