2015年01月01日 | 爺英語

A Japanese veteran ski jumper has renewed his record for being the oldest champion at the World Cup. Noriaki Kasai is 42 years and five months old. In Finland on Saturday, he broke his earlier record. Kasai took the silver medal at the Sochi Olympic Games in the men's individual large hill.
Kasai led the large hill event after jumping 145 meters in the first round. He made 131.5 meters in the second attempt. That gave him 272.2 points and certain victory. Kasai shared first place with Simon Ammann. The Swiss won another large hill event on Friday.
Saturday marked Kasai's 17th World Cup win and the first since January this year. He said his first jump was almost perfect. But he did not expect to win, because for his second jump, the wind was not on his side.
