Baseball: Shohei Ohtani receives rookie honor, praised by Angels GM as pioneer


Los Angeles Angels two-way player Shohei Ohtani has expressed his gratitude to his team after receiving the American League Rookie of the Year.
Ohtani attended the awards ceremony in New York, along with a number of top major league players and managers. Ohtani received a plaque and then delivered a speech in English to about 800 people in the audience.

"First off, I want to say what an honor it is to share this stage with so many great players. I have some special thank-yous I would like to share. To the entire Angel organization for their warm welcome from day one and their unconditional support."
