HOT WEATHER HAMPERING RECOVERY西日本豪雨 被害拡大

We begin here in Japan where rescue crews are facing a number of challenges following days of heavy rains that led to flooding and landslides. With at least 162 people dead and dozens still missing, the frantic search for survivors continues.
In Hiroshima Prefecture, an evacuation order has been issued for 25 homes. The local government says cracks were found in this reservoir that was under stress from the heavy rains.
More than 8,000 people are in temporary shelters. But with rising temperatures, it's taking a toll.
The Meteorological Agency says temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees Celsius in many areas on Wednesday. Officials say evacuees and people taking part in need to keep hydrated to avoid heatstroke.
Adding to the difficulties, the water supply has been cut off in places as well, leading to long lines at water trucks.
