「川のひかり」に魅せられて。

【印象に残った一行】
人生とは、なんとすばらしい冒険の数々で、その連鎖で成り立っているのだろう！
しかし、結局、生きることそれ自体が、途方もなく素敵な大冒険ほかならない。そうではにだろうか。それは興奮や歓喜、悲嘆や希望、退屈や忍耐、安堵や落胆、驚愕や恍惚、幸運や不運とともに、終わりが見えないまま書き継がれていき、また読み継がれてゆく、大きな大きな、手に汗握る、痛快無比の物語そのものではないだろうか。迂回だの、寄り道だの、道草だの、出会いだの、複雑に絡み合った大小無数のエピソードから成る、てんわやんわの、ごったまぜの、てんでんばらばらの、しどろもどろの、やけのやんぱちの、しちゃかめっちゃかの物語ーーーーその途切れることのない滔々たる流れのただなかを、わたしたちは皆、泳ぎながら、溺れながら、為すすべなく押し流されてゆく。何が何やらわけがわからいまま、泣いたり笑ったりしつづけ、沢山の愚かなことを仕出かし、ほんのちょっぴりは賢いこともやってのけ、そのうちいつしか日々が過ぎ、歳月が経ってゆく人生とはそういうものではないだろうか。

【コメント】
キョンキョン、小泉今日子さんも新聞の書評でお勧めでした。私からもお勧めします。ただし約600ページ有余の超長編ですぞ。

CABINET APPROVES NEW POLICY 「集団的自衛権 閣議決定 」

Members of the Japanese Cabinet have approved a new national security policy. They've reinterpreted the Constitution to enable the country to use its right to collective self-defense. So, personnel will be able to help allies under attack.
Past administrations maintained the Constitution would allow the use of force only if Japan was attacked directly. The new interpretation will permit the use of a minimum amount of force to defend a closely-related country under attack.
Cabinet members say the right should be limited to when there are clear dangers that Japan's existence is threatened and the rights of its citizens are fundamentally overturned. They say Japan may use force when there are no other appropriate means to repel an attack to protect the country and its citizens.

【漢文】
子見齊衰者、雖狎必變、見冕者與瞽者、雖褻必以貌、凶服者式之、式負版者、有盛饌必變色而作、迅雷風烈必變、

【書き下し文】
子、斉衰（しさい）の者を見ては、狎（な）れたりと雖ども必ず変ず。冕者（べんしゃ）と瞽者（こしゃ）とを見ては、褻（せつ）と雖も必ず貌（かたち）を以てす。凶服の者にはこれに式（しょく）す。負版（ふはん）の者に式す。盛饌（せいせん）あれば必ず色を変じて作（た）つ。迅雷（じんらい）風烈には必ず変ず。

【通釈】
孔子は喪服を着た人に出会った時は、例えそれが友人であっても襟を正して敬意を表された。礼服を着た人や盲人に出会った時も、例えそれが友人であっても緊張した顔つきで敬意を表された。喪服を着た人に対して敬礼をされたが、死者の戸籍を持った役人に対しても敬礼をされた。豪華な食事を御馳走になった時には立ち上がって主人に謝意を表された。雷や風が吹き荒れる日には居住まいを正して天に敬意を表された

【English】
Confucius always straightened up when he saw a person wearing mourning, even if the person was his friend. He always straightened up when he saw a person wearing full dress or a blind person, even if the person was his friend. He saluted a person wearing mourning. He also saluted a person who held a book of family register of the dead. He always stood up and expressed his gratitude when he was treated. He always straightened up on the day of thunderstorm.

『論語』とは

読んで字の如く「論じ語る」、孔子と弟子達や要人達との間に交された対話録。
『論語』は私たちの生き方の原点を見つめた思索の宝庫であり、人間性を磨く叡智が凝縮した永遠の古典。
読めば読むほど胸に深く沁み込む簡潔な言葉の数々。
『孟子』『大学』『中庸』と併せて儒教における「四書」の一つに数えられる。
全20編（学而第一～堯曰第二十） 構成され、編の名称は各編の最初の二文字を採ったものであり内容上の意味はない。
したがって、学而第一から順に読む必要はなくどこから読んでもかまわない。

歌川 広重（うたがわ ひろしげ、寛政9年（1797年） - 安政5年9月6日（1858年10月12日）は、浮世絵師。本名安藤鉄蔵。
江戸の定火消しの安藤家に生まれ家督を継ぎ、その後に浮世絵師となった。
かつては安藤広重（あんどう ひろしげ）とも呼ばれたが、安藤は本姓、広重は号であり、両者を組み合わせて呼ぶのは不適切で、広重自身もそう名乗ったことはない。
また、ゴッホやモネなどの画家に影響を与え、世界的に著名な画家である。
