【読んだ理由】
新聞の書評を見て。

【印象に残った一行】
こんな境遇に置かれなければ、彼女は鬼になることなどなかったに違いない。そんな邪悪なものが自分の内にあることさえ、知らずにすんだだろう。
しかし、たいていの人たちの心の中には、神も悪魔もいる。その時々の状況に応じて、どちらかが出現する、いつ、何がどんなかたちで出てくるか、自分でも想像がつかないところが恐ろしい。

時として、人は被害者になるより、加害者になる方が辛い。被害者は相手を許せばそれで済むが、加害者は自分で自分を許せない。いつまでも責め続ける。

あるべき位置とは、不安と孤独。表の意識では、もっとも避けたいものだ。なのに、表の意識が、私をそちらに引き戻す。これこそが、トラウマのおそろしいところである。

神経なり精神なりをほんとうに病むと、自分はおかしいから病院で治療を受けよう、というような冷静な判断ができなくなる。周囲にいる誰かが気づいて病院へ連れて行くしかない。私にはそんなことをしてくれる人もいなかった。

自然災害で店が壊されてしまったのなら、それは運命とあきらめもつくかもしれない。だが津波の被害は免れたのに、この店は人間の力で壊されたのだ。窃盗犯の顔をみれば、唇にうっすらと笑みすら浮かんでいる。

【コメント】
「誰にでも、言えなかったことがある」私もある。
でも著者ほどではないと思っているが・・・・。

【読んだ理由】
不明。

【印象に残った一行】
あるアメリカ人のお母さんから聞いたことですが、一番めの子供はI want it,という表現をはじめにおぼえたのに、二番目の子どもははじめから　I need it.と言ったそうです。そこに二番目のたくましさがあらわれています。

日本語と英語の違いとして気がつくことの一つは。Billyくんのような子でもIという人称代名詞が使えることです。日本語では子どもはかなり大きくなるまで、自分ことを「ケンちゃん」とか「なおこ」とかいいます。英語圏の子どもも自分の名前で自分を表すことをしますが、日本語ほどではありません。

But now I'm bigger.
子供に限らず、誰もが可能性のかたまりですね。

Britain's newborn princess has been named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. The choice is seen as a tribute to her grandparents and the queen. Representatives at Kensington Palace announced the name chosen by the parents — Prince William and his wife, Kate.
The couple had kept the world guessing about the name until both sides of the family got the chance to see the baby. Charlotte is the feminine form of Charles, in tribute to Prince William's father, Prince Charles. The middle names honor Queen Elizabeth and the late Princess Diana.
People in London reacted with delight to the announcement. However, there was some emotion at the choice, in particular of Diana.

"It's nice. I thought it might be Charlotte. I wanted either Charlotte or Sophia, so I like Charlotte. It's nice. It's nice to have Diana in there."

Princess Charlotte is fourth in line to the throne after Charles, William and her older brother, Prince George.

顔淵第十二の十十一

【漢文】
齊景公問政於孔子、孔子對曰、君君。臣臣、父父、子子、公曰、善哉、信如君不君、臣不臣、父不父、子不子、雖有粟、吾豈得而食諸。

【書き下し文】
斉の景公(けいこう)、政(まつりごと)を孔子に問う。
孔子対(こた)えて曰わく、君(きみ)、君たり、臣(しん)、臣たり、父(ちち)、父たり、子(こ)、子たり。
公の曰わく、善いかな。
信(まこと)に如(も)し君、君たらず、臣、臣たらず、父、父たらず、子、子たらずんば、粟(ぞく)ありと雖(いえど)も、吾(われ)豈(あ)に得て諸(こ)れを食らわんや。

【通釈】
斉の景公(けいこう)が政治について孔子に尋ねました。孔子は、
「君主は君主らしく、臣下は臣下らしく、父は父らしく、子は子らしく振舞うことが重要です」
と答えられ、景公は、
「そのとおりだ。もしも本当に彼らがそれぞれの役目を果たさずに勝手な事をしだしたら、たとえ食べ物があってもそれを食べる事が出来なくなるだろう」
と言いました。

【English】
Marquis Jin of Qi asked Confucius about politics. Confucius replied, "Monarch must behave like monarch. Vassals must behave like vassals. Father must behave like father. Children must behave like children." Marquis said, "Definitely right. If they did not behave like themselves, I could eat nothing even though there is food."

『論語』とは

読んで字の如く「論じ語る」、孔子と弟子達や要人達との間に交された対話録。
『論語』は私たちの生き方の原点を見つめた思索の宝庫であり、人間性を磨く叡智が凝縮した永遠の古典。
読めば読むほど胸に深く沁み込む簡潔な言葉の数々。
『孟子』『大学』『中庸』と併せて儒教における「四書」の一つに数えられる。
全20編（学而第一～堯曰第二十） 構成され、編の名称は各編の最初の二文字を採ったものであり内容上の意味はない。
したがって、学而第一から順に読む必要はなくどこから読んでもかまわない。
