In the early nineties, Walt Disney Imagineering had the opportunity to revisit the art of attraction posters under an entirely new set of circumstances. The challenge was given to create the most beautiful “Disneyland” theme park in a rural valley east of Paris, France. Likewise, the accompanying poster program would rise to that occasion. I am particularly proud of the poster art that Walt Disney Imagineering created for Disneyland Paris, my favorite being that of the park icon, Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant. When you look at this poster you see a castle that is entirely Disney, and at the same time enchants with its reflection on French tradition. Paris is renowned for its artistry, with a direct line to the most sublime examples of poster art at its peak, from around the dawn of the twentieth century. The French style and technique from that era stands to this day without peer, so see what you think of our updates read against the context of that City of Lights tradition.

　90年代に入ってすぐ、ウォルト・ディズニー・イマジニアリング（WDI）は、まったく新しい状況においてアトラクションのポスターを見直すことになった。世界で一番美しい「ディズニーパーク」を、フランス、パリ東部の田園地帯に作るのだ。あわせてポスター制作も進められた。ディズニーランド・パリにおけるWDIのポスター制作を、心から誇りに思っている。個人的にはディズニーランド・パリを代表するポスターになった「眠れる森の美女の城」が好きだ。一目でディズニーのものとわかる城が描かれているし、フランスの伝統も感じさせる。
