TO BOMBARD

　動詞bombardは「砲撃する、爆撃する」であるが、日常的には「（人に）［（厳しい）質問・嘆願などを］集中的に浴びせる」といった意味で使われる。

　受動態で使われることが多いかもしれない。

　"The Prime Minister was bombarded with questions concerning tax policy during the press conference."

　"But he copped out as usual."

　「首相は記者会見で税金政策について厳しい質問を浴びせられた」　

　「しかし、いつものようにのらりくらりかわした」
