STIPULATION

　stipulationは、「約定、契約」あるいは「条項、条件」。

　"David accepted the offer, but with the stipulation that he be paid in cash."

　"I think it was wise of him."

　「デイビッドはその申し出は受け入れたが、現金で支払いを受けるという条件を出した」　

　「賢明だったと思う」

　stipulationのような「要求、条件」の意味を表わす語のあとのthat 節内では、動詞は原形になる。なので、he be paidとなる。
