PIP SOMEONE AT[TO] THE POST

　pip someone at[to] the postは、「～を最後の瞬間に打ち負かす，土壇場で破る」。pipは「（かろうじて）負かす」こと。postは競馬の「（出発・ゴールの）標識柱」。
