BANK

　bankはいろいろな意味で使われるが、最近は「エレベーターバンク、高層ビルなどに設置された複数のエレベーターの集合体」の意味でも用いられる。
　現在、鋭意翻訳中のこの本にもこの描写があった。

In the elevator foyer, Randy moves with purpose, heading to the bank under the FLR. 22–37 sign.
“This way—my dad’s on the thirty-second floor. It’s near J. Jonah Jameson’s office,” he says, and then adds “unfortunately” under his breath.
　エレベーターホールに入ると、ランディは迷わず〝FLR 22–37（22階から37階）〟と案内板が表示されたエレベータ機の前に向かう。
「ここだ。父さんは32階にいるよ。J・ジョナ・ジェイムソンの部屋の近くだ」と言って、最後に小声で「運が悪いことにね」と付け加える。
　
　このbankは「エレベーターの列」で、次のように使われる。

"The elevators are divided into three banks: floors 1–10, 11–20, and 21–30."
「エレベーターは3つの列に分かれていて、1〜10階、11〜20階、21〜30階用になっている」

●Extra Point
「スイッチの並び」や「コンピュータのモニター群」の意味でも使われる。
