A BIG FAN OF…., LINEUP

　夏は野外ステージのシーズンです。日本だけでなく、昔からイギリスでも有名なバンドが集結して、チャリティ・コンサートなどが開かれてきました。　

　今日のGetUpEnglishでは、コンサートに関連した表現をまとめて紹介します。　

　「……の大ファンです」といいたいときは、a big fan of…と言えばよい。

〇Practical Example

　"I’m a big fan of Paul Weller and Eric Clapton. Will I be able to watch them both on the same day?"

　"Well, unfortunately, I’m afraid they are not playing on the same day. Paul Weller is scheduled to play on Saturday, while Eric Clapton is playing on Sunday."

　「ポール・ウェラーとエリック・クラプトンの大ファンです。2人は同じ日に観られますか？」　

　「申し訳ありませんが、同じ日には演奏しません。ポール・ウェラーは土曜日に、エリック・クラプトンは日曜日にプレイします」

●Extra Point 　

　「どんな人たちが出るのですか？」と尋ねたいときは、lineup（顔ぶれ）という表現を使うといい。

◎Extra Example

　"Can you tell me the lineup for the Sunday concerts?"

　"Just let me look at the schedule here. There are six bands playing on Sunday. The first band is Sting at twelve o’clock. After that, Bad Company for an hour and a half, followed by U2. Then at five o’clock, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page come on to play for two hours. The Who featuring Noel Gallagher perform at seven o’ clock, and finally we finish the evening with Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood."

　「日曜日のコンサートの出演者を教えていただけますか？」 　

　「出演者リストを確認してみますね。日曜日は6組のステージがあります。最初にスティングが12時に登場します。そのあとバッド・カンパニーのステージが1時間半あって、つづいてU２が出てきます。そのあと5時からロバート・プラントとジミー・ペイジが2時間プレイします。そしてザ・フーとノエル・ギャラが―が7時に出てきて、最後はエリック・クラプトンとスティーヴ・ウィンウッドのステージでフィナーレとなります」 　

　こんなコンサートがあったら、ほんとうに夢のようですね。
